Studying the Great Henri Fantin-Latour he’s beautiful flower paintings. The reproduction Size 16” by 20” on canvas.  Titled: “To Henri alla prima” took artistic license, my version.

 

My heartfelt prayers are with those affected by the hurricane, things appeared as in back to normal, but… there’s a silence here, in the south. The fire department and local schools, are continually taking donations for those affected by the hurricane. I Hope you are safe and sound.

Titled: “Recovery”

Well just like the titled of the painting that is what is happening in my own life, learning to do everything and each and every day is a new experience, yet I have learned to appreciate even more the value of life it self and how beautiful is been able and share my talent with all whom care.

For the upper painting chose one of the life arrangements that a dear friend of mine got me to cheer me up, looking at the vase noticed how blue is the predominant color so chose that to be the theme of the painting, a lighter background, focusing in the petals and the pink ribbon surrounding it, the second painting has more a darker background as well and is titled “learning”, Shadows come to play and a mix of raw sienna and burnt umber played a big role in both paintings.

Grateful to be able and continue with Art and to share this with you, knowing that there’s more progress to come and my life has been completely rearranged for the better.

The artwork story should become part of who we are at all times, it gives more depth and meaning. From the tittle to the extra stroke you put in there, there’s got to be a meaning.  Art with out substance is “tasteless” so the art making goes beyond of just “I like to do it” or it “is my therapy” or “I am very good at it etc….

Since the beginning to an end, every artist has a story, and no artist is ever boring, we all have it and this should be enticing, even in what you might call your despair. If there’s a mystery or silent in your brush strokes from the materials you use to prime your canvas, the mixture of your darkest darks or any other feelings or attitudes you choose to create your art with.

“ We are story tellers” tell your story well…

Progressive studies, watercolors and Oil paintings, miniatures.

 

Some of the progressive studies in watercolors and oils, small miniatures 2.5” by 3.5” and 4” by 6” in size, done in encaustic boards, paper and linen canvas, a mixture of yellows and perm madder medium. Omitting this time earth tones for the oils, working with cool solid colors.

Painting size is 24” by 36”  made in oils using the technique Italian term  “Alla prima” also known as  wet in to wet.

History about Artwork: This painting is a dream not long ago where, established and plotted different ideas, the blue jay is a bird that in repeated occasions has  being seeing all over  along with the red cardinal.

Please note:this painting has of course an exaggerated flower, and a calm peaceful sky ~ and it will be titled “Hope” or “The gift of”…not sure yet … on the mean time is my greatest pleasure to show you part of the process.

Say yes to random! see what else is there in your reference photos?  There is a vast potential for more than just one painting in one single photo, action painting is a way of keeping your mind, fresh and full of ideas. 

For this painting Anders Zorn came back to mind a master in completing he's figures with a limited palette  and whom I’ve had the pleasure to study for the past several years. The randomness in action of  must of he’s nudes figures gave me the zing to try this one out, abstracting as much as possible every trace of detail.
