new ACEO for the year 2012
“Apples and White drape”
Hope you are enjoying your time with your family and friends, here is one of the recent artworks made in oils. One of them is made to have a 3d effect as if you could pull the apple out, this is made by layering right color and pulling, with shadow strengthening with shape and form. The background leads also the viewer in to the still life.

My heartfelt prayers are with those affected by the hurricane, things appeared as in back to normal, but… there’s a silence here, in the south. The fire department and local schools, are continually taking donations for those affected by the hurricane. I Hope you are safe and sound.
This artwork is available for auction http://myworld.ebay.com/vargasartstudio and possibly part of the earnings will be donated, won’t give more details in which or where, because I am a big believer of the golden rule, and “what the right hand do, don’t let the left hand know”.
Be grateful. As usual thank you for your time, hope you continue pushing the medium of preference.

Edgar Degas Art reproduction “My version”
The female form has a certain informality and much beautiful to paint that males, enjoying the poetic rhythmic strokes in each and every drawing and painting that Edgar Degas has done, thought to make something close to honor the master painter.
Enjoying the fall colors and the fiery crimsons that some of he’s paintings have, colorful and full of energy, no wonder he became so popular with he’s ballerinas. But then again, he grew tiresome and moved on to the next stage of he’s life as a painter. This, some did not understood.
As painters we understand why, it is very difficult to limit ourselves to others content, to bend and to please for the sake of others. Even more difficult to deal with ignorance and arrogance sometimes, specially when the Art is not for the walls, but for the emotion of been able to do it, that art becomes very real and colors have a different meaning, and yes it is ok to abhor our own work and understand is all part of that process and reaction that only art produces in us, with color and emotion!
Having fun with watercolors this time!, this one came to me wile on target, have another idea for a similar painting, lets call this the rough sketch. Hope you are having an great time, I have been recuperating,so that is real good news, slowly than expected, but steady, other than today, woken up with a weird cold?
Right now mesmerizing at my new child and growing fun of it, even lift it up and saw how is going to look once framed and smiled. There’s more to come so stick around.

This is the Sister painting ACEO, the use of high key colors, not paint beauty but what we see” Titled: “Stubborn” Size 3” by 3” History about artwork: Using stubbornness to comply with positive.
Well just like the titled of the painting that is what is happening in my own life, learning to do everything and each and every day is a new experience, yet I have learned to appreciate even more the value of life it self and how beautiful is been able and share my talent with all whom care.
For the upper painting chose one of the life arrangements that a dear friend of mine got me to cheer me up, looking at the vase noticed how blue is the predominant color so chose that to be the theme of the painting, a lighter background, focusing in the petals and the pink ribbon surrounding it, the second painting has more a darker background as well and is titled “learning”, Shadows come to play and a mix of raw sienna and burnt umber played a big role in both paintings.
Grateful to be able and continue with Art and to share this with you, knowing that there’s more progress to come and my life has been completely rearranged for the better.
For several years I have been under the must horrific pain known to a women, I suffer from Amenorrhea, adenomyosis and endometriosis this means, months after months of pain that you could not possible imagine. Taking me away from painting and enjoying my self as well as making everyone else's lives impossible, because of mood swings etc.
What does this has to do with my paintings, well the inevitable which is an surgery has to come and I would not be posting until my recovery. Both of the stores will be closed, the artworks sold this week will be the last ones to be sent out.
However posting the last paintings sold, this week for you to view and to keep my blog as for what it is for, Art.

Hope this serves you, as good reference to paint, do please let me know how it worked out, happy paintings! Best regards,
“The long slumber”
Very happy to introduce the new miniatures oil paintings, this one in particular is a 2.5” by 3.5”of two kittens taking a nap, very interesting, because of the way these two kittens are portrayed in a simple moment, and in a miniature style, this proves also how versatile working in miniature art is. This also teaches us, how different techniques can also be incorporated in to a miniature, and not just leaving it out for a single subject.
With hopes that you learned to love, and appreciate this works as many have, which is an awesome way of doing art, thought also would be a good example for those who are starting out doing miniature works.
As usual, for more information about this and other new miniature and bigger size paintings. You can visit http://myworld.ebay.com/vargasartstudio
The colors used are the best choices for this painting that is all about summer, weather changes, as well as sudden changes and abrupt situations in life, all emotions situated in each color which are then carefully placed to soothe and please the view. “depending how you look at it” here in to this abstract titled “Reef” under water blur as if in a dream.
Special thanks to Mike, Janet and Kathy for their support!

“On the floor”
This was a simple setup of an orange. Oil on canvas board 9” by 12”
The children wanted to use the blender today, which got me a little nervous since is the first time they are allowed to use it, expecting having blue berries, strawberry smoothie all over the walls.
Wile drinking the mixed berries, asked them if I could borrow one of the oranges to paint, they all agreed at the same time, and say uhuum… and this still life was born. .
One of my favorites recent miniature painting, measures 2.5” by 3.5” probably would look even nicer and all abstract like in a larger scale.
Titled: “To Carrier”
Artwork Drying happily the measures are 9” by 12” The admiration for the maker of this painting grew a couple years ago with this beauty. He’s pastel colors are hard to miss if not careful. He truly was a master of color. The sentiment given to he’s models as well as the poses chosen, gives one the story. Hope that with each stroke the little painting bring a closer look in to the heart of the viewer. You also can admire, The Master Carrier.
The miniature is up for Auction. If you are interested you can check out more information about this painting here: myworld.ebay.com/VargasArtStudio
Part of the process of one of the recent oil paintings, focus here is in the shadows, and the background which will help the figure stand out on its own. Using, umbers ocres and burnt to add warmth , this colors later on will be reinforced.
Hope this summer is bringing a smile and a well deserved tan. Continue doing what you love in your medium of preference!
Titled: “First Harvest” 16” by 20” Oil Painting Sketch.
Cherries! first harvest of May, farms of South New Jersey. For this portrait an experience made in to a memory. One of the goals here is to invite You the viewer to experience the moment and enjoy it as much as the character, different tones of blues, complementing, and lines that are used to take you to the center subject, which are the cherries.
From the background down, points out to the center, in return once you get there, the leaves invites your view to stop and jump back and look at the background.
Color an important Psychological part of any painting. Part of technical, The artwork focus rather in having fun, and enjoyment! Yes skill is required, but should not be the overall important thing, errors and mistakes in my case are acceptable, because no matter how many years of experience we have, there is always room for improvement.
“in your shoes”
Learning to be up building rather than tear others apart, it has to come from training the heart.
Modern approach to dancers at the park practicing, their arabesque and balance as well as stretching, had the opportunity to take a couple of pictures, with the help of a friend.
The beginning of a series of future paintings will have the both of them” soon! A simple study a sketch in action of the model.

“The Queens of Spring”
Spring is the season that strives in colors and what better reason to take out the watercolors from that dusty compartment and give them back their dignity, in just right of time, they finally agreed to teach me a lesson of two with undertone. And the adventure, began!
The miniatures are the new experiment with color techniques and undertones, the results so far excellent, treating watercolors with the same care and respect as if oils. The advantage that the medium gives to light, absolutely no comparison.
